UDUS student union president and financial secretary suspended over misconduct/ money issues!
       It was a steaming hot avenue as the president of the Student Union, Usmanu Danfodiyo  University, sokoto Comrade Umar Farouq Sa'id and the financial secretary were both suspended for 6 weeks and eight weeks respectively.
      The financial secretary was suspended due to lack of adequate information on the financial status of the student union and for paying a sum of N41000 belonging to the student union into his own personal account. Despite several warnings by the SRA he reportedly showed a non challant attitude leading to his suspension. The motion for the suspension was made by Hon Akewushola Khadijah and Seconded by Hon Ola Abubakar.
   The president was however suspended for not giving adequate/correct information on some events he attended during the break. He reportedly sent letters indicating that he'll be attending conferences in Abuja and portharcourt, however the venues he gave and the details of the events we proven to be false after investigations. The president also reportedly spent N40000 for accomodation at an event in which accomodation was said to have been free.
    Responding to the allegations the president stated that his brain was not a computer and he could not remember where the conference in portharcourt was held, neither could he remember the account from which N40000 was paid. The Speaker of the SRA however stated that the suspensions were done in accordance to the constitution of the school.
   The President claimed that his withdrawal of the,N40000 was a suggestion of the dean student affairs, and he threatened to challenge the decision of the house.
